But why the name “UnPausable Women”?

Because honestly, menopause is tough. And some days, it can be really hard to push on.

But as women… As mothers, as daughters, as sisters - we push on.  Not always for ourselves, but for those who love, need and depend on us.

So “UnPausable Women” is not just the name of this newsletter…
But a reminder.

A reminder that:

You are worthy.
You are beautiful, in-control and unstoppable.

YOU are UnPausable

Elevate Your Midlife: A Fitness Blueprint for Thriving

As time goes by, our bodies are changing. Bones may shrink in size and density, while muscles tend to lose strength, flexibility, and endurance. These shifts can impact our balance and coordination.

But there’s no need to worry, because the key to maintaining vitality as you age lies in one word: movement.

Let’s explore ways to keep ourselves moving and living our best lives!

In this article, Cheryl Alkon explores exercise recommendations tailored for women in midlife.

As women embrace the unique challenges of perimenopause and menopause, exercise becomes a powerful ally.

The guidelines from the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advise us to invest in our health with:

  • 150 to 300 minutes of moderate exercise OR
  • 75 to 150 minutes of vigorous aerobic exercise each week

Don't forget to include muscle-strengthening routines twice a week. Now, let's put these recommendations into action.

❤️Boost Heart Health
Aerobic exercise, like brisk walks or dance sessions for at least 30 minutes daily, keeps your heart strong and resilient

🏋️‍♀️Strengthen Bones
Protect against fractures with strength training and toe-heel raises, promoting bone density and graceful posture.

🧠Elevate Mood
Fight loneliness and nurture your mental health with short bursts of cardio, like dancing or swimming, for at least 10 minutes daily. Better yet, find a group cardio class like dancing or aerobics!

💪🏼Combat Menopausal Changes
Interval training can help manage weight, reduce stress, and combat abdominal fat gain, often called the "menopot."

Be sure to check with your doctor before beginning a new exercise program.

Remember, these exercises are your path to a vibrant, healthy midlife. Embrace them, prioritize your well-being, and continue enjoying life's journey.
