Thanks for the question. There are plenty of options for your mood. 5-HTP, also known as 5-HTP, is a dietary supplement made from the seeds of the African plant Griffonia simplicifolia.

5-HTP is a precursor of serotonin, which is one of the good hormones. If you don’t have enough serotonin, then you can feel depressed or moody.

Stress is one reason you may be low on serotonin so 5-HTP may do the trick. So, it’s a very reasonable option and many people report feeling better while taking it as a supplement.

It has been used for depression, anxiety, insomnia, and fibromyalgia. There is one issue though and that is the supplements have not been evaluated by the FDA, and if used, you need to make sure that it is manufactured at a reliable, safe facility.

The optimal dose of 5-HTP has not been determined, so I would graduall

increase it until you start to feel better. There can be side effects at high doses. If that occurs, talk to your gynecologist because he or she may recommend a prescription medication.
